CSS for Mobile?

Any good developer knows that you’re only as good as your bag of tricks – well, and your adherence to standards compliance! For those of you in the standards compliance camp, while you should never rely solely on tricks to make your site stand out, style sheet tricks will allow you to get the most out of your CSS-based projects and CSS may prove even more beneficial to your mobile efforts.

Separate CSS for Mobile/Handheld Devices

Mobile is the wave of the future and many developers are trying to capitalize on this new demographic growth as fast as they can. In order to create a separate style sheet for mobile users, there is a snippet of code that can be used in order to identify mobile users from traditional Web users and give them new styles so that your site will look even better on the small screen.

link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="handheldstyle.css" media="handheld"

You can set up your mobile style sheets to allow for vertical-only scrolling by keeping your maximum widths to 150 pixels and allowing for smaller font sizes or other mobile-positive format styles that will help your users get the most out of your site.

Offscreen, however, he’s a thoughtful, detail-oriented creator — who just happens to have a serious flair for the eccentric.
